Which Filter?

Dyson have invested time and effort in the research of consumers requirements and as a result developed a wide range of filters for different situations and different models.

Their two main filters are: Standard and HEPA filters.

Standard filters are electrostatically charged membranes which can attract even smallest particles. One filter is used before the motor, and  a second after the motor.

HEPA filters are High Efficiency Particulate Air filters and are fitted with a 'Bactiguard' screen which Dyson have developed to kill and remove harmful bacteria.
It is particularly useful for those who suffer from hay fever and Asthma. These filters come in different shapes to suit different models. Standard filters can also be fitted with 'Bactiguard' for added safeguard.

Which Filter for which Dyson?

DC01 silver and yellow, and DC01 blue models use two
s-level electrostatic filters.

DC01 Absolute and De Stijl have one s-level filter and one HEPA filter with 'Bactiguard screen. This double act captures harmful particles as small as cigarette smoke and kills germs and bacteria instantly on contact.

Why use Air filters in Dyson?

Air filters in Dyson vacuum cleaners have three main purposes.

To ensure expelled air is free  from dust and motor emission particles.

To remove bacteria and allergenic particles  on certain models. (Absolute, De Stjil, DC03)

  To protect the motor.
